MI vs KKR: Live Score and Update
Back-to-Back Wins for Mumbai Indians!
They lost the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera since the previous updates but that didn’t slow them a bit! Tim David got a promotion and made the most of it by smashing the bowlers to all parts. In the end an easy win for Mumbai with 14 balls spare!
It was expected that KKR spinners will get some purchase but except Suyash Sharma, no one stood up!.. Kudos to Venkatesh to get a hundred but he will end up on the loosing end!
We have another game on hands, The rematch of last season’s finalist. So shift tabs to that game and catch the updates – GT vs RR, IPL 2024 Match 23 – Live Score and Update
Suyash strikes!
He castles Tilak Varma but it is a little too late! Can KKR apply some pressure with this wicket and take the game deep??.. MI 148/3 after 14 overs. 38 runs to win from 36 balls!.. Suyash Sharma has done well with his spell, 2/27 when bowlers have travelled around the park!
Sky’s last 6 deliveries: 6,6,0,1,6,4 – 23 runs off those 6 balls. Surya is now 37 off 20 and in a hurry to finish this! He has struck his vintage best now and has for sure answered all questions regarding his form!
MI vs KKR: MI well ahead at the halfway stage!
Mumbai Indians are cruising at the moment. Ishan’s fiery knock has put them in a winning position! They are 110/2 needing 76 runs more from 60 balls! KKR finally bring Lockie Ferguson into attack. They need to stop the flow of runs and wickets are the best way to do it!
50 and out!
A big wicket for Kolkata Knight Riders, Chakravarthy the man who gets it. They get the other set batter Ishan Kishan. Both openers in the hut now. Ishan Kishan scored a splendid fifty but perishes playing one shot too many! MI 87/2 , still 99 runs away from victory!
MI vs KKR: Powerplay Concludes with MI 72/1
A decent close to the powerplay, only 7 runs of the last over. It started and ended well for KKR. But in between them, there were 63 runs scored by the MI batters. Ishan Kishan is batting on 45 runs off 18 balls. He is joined by the skipper Suryakumar Yadav who has hit a boundary himself. Despite the loss of Rohit, this is an excellent powerplay for MI!
MI 72/1 after 6 overs, need 114 runs from 84 balls!
KKR strike back!
An outstanding catch by Umesh Yadav to stun Rohit and the Wankhede crowd. A much needed strike for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Â Rohit plays a punchy drive and doesn’t bother to keep it down. Umesh at mid-off moves to his left, and dives to grab it nicely. This brings Suryakumar Yadav to the middle.
MI 65/1 after 5 overs. 122 more runs to win from 90 balls.
50 up for MI!.. They are off to a flyer!
Mumbai Indians have brought up the team fifty in just 23 balls. The first over was fairly quite, but they launched a brutal assault in the second. The pocket dynamite of Mumbai, Ishan Kishan is on the act here! Last 3 overs have gone for 55 runs with 16,17 and 22 coming off them. MI are 57/0 after 4 overs.. Just the start they needed!

MI vs KKR: Innings Break!
Kolkata Knight Riders have ended with 185/6. They slowed down at the end, scoring only 45 runs off the last 5! Probably 10-15 runs short but still a good total. But the innings saw Venkatesh Iyer became only the second KKR batter to score a hundred! Spinners had an economy of 6.87 today while the pacers leaked runs at a rate of 10.83. Spin will hold the key!
The target for Mumbai Indians is 186 runs from 120 balls!.. They would need to start well as it wont be easy to score against KKR spinners! All eyes would be on their stand-in skip Suryakumar Yadav. SKY has 4 golden ducks in his last 7 innings!.. They would need him to fire today .. The chase coming up!
RECORD: Maiden IPL hundred for Venkatesh Iyer!
Venkatesh Iyer gets to his maiden IPL hundred off just 49 balls. He slowed down at the end but still striking them above 200. This is only the second time a KKR batter has scored a century in the history of the IPL. First since Brendon McCullum’s 158 in 2008. What a knock it has been from him! Take a bow Venkatesh Iyer.
He is dismissed just after he reaches his 100. Meredith sends him back for 104 off 51 balls.

Venkatesh Iyer is on 97. Rinku Singh supporting him at the other end. KKR 140/4 after 15 overs. Shokeen bowls a quite over, only 5 runs of the 15th over. They would eye a 200+ score here.

Wankhede is always a lovely place to be. This is a day game and the sun is beaming down. Last game we got an average score of about 180 at the Wankhede, so we are hoping for a high scoring game but this surface is a very interesting one. There isn’t a lot of grass and some of the cracks are showing. It is still a hard surface but because the grass has been shaven so closely, this surface could grip with so many spinners…says Ian Bishop in Pitch Report.
Build Up..
Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will play two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders in the 22nd game of the current season of the Indian Premier League 2024. The game will take place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Follow the feed for MI vs KKR, IPL 2024 Match 22 – Live Score and Update.
Mumbai will be looking to build on their previous triumph, while Kolkata will be looking to rebound following a setback in their most recent game.  One common thread between the two, though, is the performance of their key retainees. Suryakumar Yadav and Andre Russell are yet to live up to their T20 power-hitting reputations.
Spin was crucial in the lone game played at the Wankhede so far this season. Given that this is an afternoon game, both teams’ tweakers should have an influence. Scoring a high total on this surface is difficult, but chasing is simple based on past games played here.
