“Keep shining and rising” Virat Kohli replies to Babar Azam’s viral “This too shall pass” Tweet

Kohli's last century came in 2019, and it has been 2 years now that the three-figure mark has eluded him.

Babar Azam is at the peak of his career and many are comparing him to the Indian great, Virat Kohli. However, players never pay heed to any such comparisons. Currently, Virat is the hot topic for all discussions around cricket because the aggressive batter known for single-handedly dominating the opposition has been unable to do so for quite some time now. Recently, Babar Azam made a Tweet showing his belief in Virat Kohli who is experiencing a ‘run drought’ and is struggling with the form for over 2 years now. Babar wrote “This too shall pass. Stay strong” along with a picture of the two from the T20 WC 2021. Virat Kohli replies to Babar Azam’s Tweet, and the reply is going viral.

Virat replied to the Tweet after a day and he wrote “Thank you. Keep shining and rising. Wish you all the best 👏”.

Pakistan is currently on a tour to Sri Lanka. In a pre-match conference, a day prior to the first Test Babar Azam was asked about his tweet. He emphasized the fact that he himself is a cricketer and gets how difficult it would be for Kohli.

“As a player myself, I know you can go through such a phase (out of form) and I also know what a player goes through in such a phase. In those times, you need support. I just tweeted thinking that it will give just some support. He is one of the best players. He is playing a lot of cricket, and he knows how to come out of these situations. It takes time, if you back players, it will be really good.”

Babar Azam on being asked about his tweet

Since the T20 World Cup 2022 is getting closer, there is a conclusion-less debate that is being gone on. Some believe that India is full of youngsters who are been looking in great touch so Virat cannot be continued in the team after his extended struggles with form. However, some believe that Australian playing conditions are significantly different. Therefore, it becomes important that an experienced player like Kohli is a part of the team.
