BCCI’s selection committee led by Chetan Sharma has faced severe criticism lately. Not only the audience, but former cricketers and the critics of the game have questioned their decision to include a certain set of players while ignoring other deserving candidates. However, seems like the chosen team’s failure at delivering the desired result proved to be the final nail in the coffin for BCCI. And thus, the committee of four out of which 3 have served only half of their decided tenure is now sacked. And the selection for the upcoming Bangladesh tour would be their last assignment with the board.

Despite the inklings, the latest decision of BCCI comes as a shocker. No official statement was issued regarding the change. Moreover, if the reports are to be believed, BCCI didn’t even warn the said committee about the sacking beforehand. Informing of the development, BCCI announced the opening of the application’s window for the post of selectors. Moreover, the statement specified the required grounds essential for being eligible for the position. The newly elected National Selection Committee will take charge starting in December.
