IPL Purple Cap Winners List
Over the years, IPL has given 14 different purple cap winners. Among these purple cap winners, eight are Indians, and seven are foreign players.
Moreover, two players have won the purple cap twice. First is Dwayne Bravo, who won the Purple Cap in 2013 and 2015. The second player is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who won in 2016 and 2017. Bhuvneshwar is also the only player to win it back-to-back.
The first-ever purple cap winner is former Rajasthan Royals bowler Sohail Tanvir. Whereas, the first Indian cricketer to win the purple cap was R.P. Singh in 2010. He represented the Deccan Chargers and picked up 23 wickets.
When it comes to the most wicket-taker in an IPL season, it is a tie between two players. One is the all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who picked up 32 wickets in 2013. The second is former Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler Harshal Patel, who picked up 32 wickets in 2021.
