Do or Die match!! The 51st match of IPL 2021, scheduled at Sharjah Cricket Stadium was between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. This match is so crucial for both the teams, they need to win the match to make it into the playoffs. So let’s have a look at the match summary. MI bowlers were all over the RR batters. They restricted RR to just 90 runs and took 9 wickets. MI vs RR Man of the Match: Credits to MI bowlers who paved the way for their team and one of them also received the MOM award. MI won the match by 8 wickets.

To start with, MI won the toss and chose to field first. Bowlers did their part so well and provided a great relief to MI. They gave a hard time to RR batters. Although they started with a run rate of 9, the whole team collapsed after the 3rd over. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals and none of the batter was able to set himself. Magnificent bowling from all the bowlers especially Jasprit Bumrah, Coulter-Nile and James Neesham. They bowled their spells at an economy rate of around 3 and 3.5. As a result, MI managed to refrain RR from putting up a big total.

In the second innings, MI started off quite well. Although they lost 2 wickets in the powerplay, they managed to maintain the balance. Rohit Sharma scored 22 off 13 and departed early. But he became the first Indian batter to smash 400 sixes in T20 format. However the young man, Ishaan Kishan struck some biggies to lead the team to victory. He smashed a quickfire knock of 50 runs off just 25 balls. RR bowlers failed to restrict MI from reaching the target. Thus MI won the match by 8 wickets and 70 balls left. 

Man of the Match in MI vs RR match

The Australian bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile bags the Man of the Match award for his magnificent spell. He bowled splendidly and conceded just 14 runs in his 4 overs. Furthermore he clinched 4 big wickets which could be way too disastrous. He dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal, David Miller, Glenn Philips and Chetan Sakariya.
