IND vs AUS: Australia using Ravichandran Ashwin duplicate to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Series against India

Australia has done everything possible to prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series (IND vs AUS) against India.

Australia has done everything possible to prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series (IND vs AUS) against India, even snagging a Ravichandran Ashwin copy to aid in their training. Prior to the four-match Test series, Maheesh Pithiya, who has an uncanny resemblance to Ashwin’s bowling motion, has been practising with the Australian team.

Pithiya, a spin bowler from the Gujarati city of Junagadh, is working out with the Australian batsmen to help them counter Ashwin’s skill with the spinner in the crucial Border-Gavaskar series. Pithiya’s action is intriguingly entirely unique considering that he did not see Ashwin bowl until he was 11 years old due to the fact that his family did not yet own a television.

To no one’s surprise, Ashwin rose to idol status after Pithiya first saw him represent India against the West Indies in 2013. Pithiya later made his first-class debut for Baroda in December and has drawn many comparisons to his cricketing hero. Ashwin will prove to be Australia’s biggest threat in the upcoming Test series due to the spin-friendly conditions in India. As a result, Pithiya was contacted by the Australian support staff, who then arranged for him to train with the Australian batters at the KSCA Ground in Alur. The Karnataka Cricket Association has created three specially designed pitches on the KSCA Ground that will help spinners, with each pitch gaining turn throughout the day.

IND vs AUS series will be an exhilarating one

For cricket fans around the world, this has been a rivalry to cherish, and Australia has now lost three straight series to India, including two in their own backyard. The Australian team led by Pat Cummins, however, is the best in a long time.

India hasn’t suffered a Test series loss at home since 2012. India will be dangerous even without Rishabh Pant, and with the World Test Championship on the line, they will undoubtedly come out firing.
