Captain Ro becomes the first Indian batter to hit 250 sixes in Indian Premier League

Amid the clash with Punjab Kings, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma aka Captain Ro aka Hitman has reached a personal IPL Milestone. The 35-year-old opener has hit 250 IPL sixes in his 16-year IPL Career.

Rohit Sharma debuted in IPL as a middle-order all-rounder for Deccan Chargers against Kolkata Knight Riders on 20th April 2008. Mumbai Indians signed him in 2011 and made him captain two years down the lane. Captain Ro has managed to become the most successful IPL Captain and one of the key names of the franchise-based tourney. Rohit scored 44 off 27 balls and set the momentum for the 5-time champs alongside Cameron Green. The Indian batsman had 247 sixes in his name coming into the match. He pulled off exactly three sixes which brought him to the milestone. He has hit 51 sixes for the Deccan Chargers from 44 innings – the second-highest for the now-defunct franchise. For Mumbai Indians, he has amassed 199 sixes from 184 innings.

Besides becoming the first Indian to reach 250 sixes in IPL, Rohit Sharma has also become the 3rd cricketer to score 150 sixes as captain. MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have achieved this feat before Captain Ro. Also Read: Did Arsenal Just Lose The Title Race?

Moreover, he is also one six away from becoming the sixth player to hit 200 sixes for one single team.
