Bajrang Punia biography
Bajrang Punia was born on February 26, 1994, in Khudan Village, Jhajjar District, Haryana, India (age 28 as of 2022). At the age of seven, he began wrestling. He received his training at the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) regional facility in Sonepat, India.

Bairang Punia family
Balvan Singh Punia and Om Pyari Punia have three children, with Bajrang being the eldest. Harendra Punia is the name of his older brother. Naman Punia is the name of his nephew.
On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, Bajrang Punia wed fellow wrestler Sangeeta Phogat in a low-key wedding in Balali, Haryana. He posted about his marriage on Instagram, stating,
“Today, I have chosen my life partner and it feels like I have gained another family. I am starting a new chapter in my life and I am both happy and excited for the journey ahead. Thank you for your love and wishes.”
Bajrang Punia Career
In 2013, Bajrang won his first international competition when he helped his nation capture bronze in the Asian Wrestling Championship. After that, he continued to compete in and win numerous medals in wrestling competitions, including the Commonwealth Games, the Asian Games, and numerous more national and international competitions.

Controversy
At one point, Bajrang Punia openly criticised the government’s Khel Ratna Award policy.
He declared that he would go to the court to inquire about the procedure for bestowing the honour. According to reports, Bajrang received the maximum achievement score of 80, while Virat Kohli received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award with a score of 0.
