Seattle: Dallas Stars defeated the third-placed Seattle Kraken of Pacific Division 5-2 at an road game in Climate Pledge Arena. Stars, with the win are three points clear of Minnesota Wild, having played the same amount of games.
Evigenii Dadonov gave the Stars a lead at 3:13 swatting a bounce into the nets past Kraken’s Martin Jones. Not so later, Jamie Benn extended the lead by converting a rebound into a power-play goal.
Kraken had a glimmer of hope in the first period as Yann Fourde scored a goal later. The Kraken continued to extend their lead in the 2nd period with Joe Pavelski inching in a PPG.
The 13th minute saw Kraken scoring their second and final goal of the day. Vince Dunn came into the Kraken’s rescue as he assisted Tolvanen to celebrate their second goal. The joy didn’t last more than 20 seconds before Johnston gave Stars’ their fourth goal.
In the third period, Jason Robertson scored the final goal and moved the Stars points. Stars have six players breaching multi-point games. Jamie Benn scored one and assisted twice while Miro Heiskanen assisted thrice. Pavelski, Dadonov, Johnston, and Robertson assisted and scored one each. On the opposition, Vince Dunn assisted twice and ensured a MpG for himself.
Dallas Stars are now leading the Central division with 87 points (37-17-13). Kraken (37-23-7), on the other hand, has 81 points, one point ahead of Edmonton Oilers.
