Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, continues to stay in the limelight. The main reason of him being the center of attention is his relations with the Master Blaster. Also, after Mumbai Indians purchased the young cricketer at the IPL Mega Auctions 2022, people expected Arjun to be a part of the Playing XI for MI. Gujarat Titans showed interest in getting Arjun in their franchise at Rs 25 Lakhs but later, MI bid for him for an amount of Rs 30 Lakh. However, Arjun didn’t get a chance to showcase his cricketing skills in the 15th season of IPL. The bowling coach of Mumbai Indians; Shane Bond, was asked about Arjun Tendulkar not being a part of the playing squad in any game. He replied by saying that the young bowler still needs to work on his techniques.
The former Indian skipper, Kapil Dev also pondered his thoughts on the prodigy’s career. When asked about Arjun Tendulkar in an interview for Uncut, Kapil Dev stated that people should let the young boy play his own game. He shouldn’t be compared to his father as it creates a lot of pressure, especially on the younger generations. “Why is everyone talking about him? Because he’s Sachin Tendulkar’s son. Let him play his own cricket and do not compare with Sachin. To have a Tendulkar name have perks and disadvantages as well.”

He also mentioned the example of Don Bradman’s son. “Don Bradman’s son changed his name because he could not soak that kind of pressure. He removed the surname Bradman because everyone expected him to turn out like his father. Don’t put pressure on Arjun. He’s a young boy. Who are we to say anything to him when he has the great Sachin as his father?”
Kapil Dev also gave some valuable advice to Arjun which would help him in the greater future. “But I would still just like to tell him one thing…… Go and enjoy yourself. No need to prove anything. If you can become even 50% like your father…. there’s nothing better. When the name Tendulkar comes up, our expectations rise because Sachin was such a great one.”
