The World No 8 and the 8th-seed, Casper Ruud from Norway defeated the Polish, Hubert Hurkacz by 6-2,6-3,3-6,6-3 through the third round. Casper Ruud becomes the first Norwegian player to join the French Open 2022 quarterfinals.
The 23-year-old suppressed Hubert Hurkacz after a third set down to win in the fourth set. He is appearing in the first Grand Slam of 2022 and already got hands-on two career ATP tour titles. Ruud lifted the Argentina Open 2022 against the native land player, Diego Schwartzman followed by a second title as the defending champion of the Geneva Open.
He passed through a tough match against Tsongo who was playing his last tournament in three tiebreaks out of four sets. The second round was pretty buttery for Casper Ruud against Ruusuvuori in straight three-sets. After an effortless previous round, he passed a humongous match in opposition to the Italian in five sets.

Ruud last year could only make up to the third round of the French Open where he lost to the Spaniard, Davidovich Fokina in an extremely long match. Then, he also appeared in the Wimbledon the same year in which he downed very soon in the first round. Ruud was early eliminated from the US Open last year against B. van de Zandschulp.
