Tomljanovic stuns Anett Kontaveit

Alja Tomljanovic defeated Anett Kontaveit in two sets in the first round of the Roland Garros. Tomljanovic played quite impressive tennis against the 5th seed Kontaveit. The first set was nip and tuck for both. Both players were playing targeting one another backhands and did full-court coverage. It took almost two hours to beat world number five.

The first set was not easy for either but Tomljanovic clinched it at 7-6(7-6). Even though Kontaveit’s drop shots were more accurate than Ajla’s, this did not affect any much to her strategy against Anett. The second set was somewhat the same as the first, ending it with some tough notes. Alja recorded the greatest win of her career by defeating 5th-seed Anett Kontaveit in two sets.
