Hillerod: Sumit Nagal defeated August Holmgren 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to make the game equal. The match taking place at Royal Stage, Hilllerod, Denmark lasted for two hours and twenty-seven minutes.

25-year-old Sumit had a rock start giving away the first set to August. Nagal, ranked 505 dropped the first serve and the momentum early-on. However, In the second set, Sumit came back brilliant in valiant form which he continued into the third set. The victory, also ensured a draw ahead of Day 2’s fixtures.

Early in the day, World Number 9 Holger Rune defeated Yuki Bhambri in straight sets. Nevertheless, The chances of a Yuki victory was very low considering the ranking difference between the two of them. Rune completely drenched the Indian without giving his opponent not much of a chance by winning 6-2,6-2.

Day 2 starts with the Yuki Bhambri-Rohan Bopanna playing Johannes Ingiildsen and Christian Sigsgard. Rohan Boppana ranked 17 in doubles came closer to a Grandslam championship last month at Melbourne. Additionally, Yuki Bhambri is also in Top 100 of ATP Doubles Ranking. Thence, it is evident that Yuki and Boppanna edges over the Danes in a monumentous manner. The tie is one of the assured wins India is expecting.

Later on, Sumit Nagal will play Holger Rune meanwhile Yuki plays Holmgren. if India secures a victory in two of the remaining sets, India can qualify for the World Group I. A loss will see Denmark moving on and India relegated to World Group II.
