The young Denish player, Holger Rune magnificently defeated 1st-seeded Alexander Zverev in the Round of 16 in the Munich Open. Rune beat the top-seed Zverev in Munich Open 2022 in just less than a two-hour match. It all took straight two sets for Holger to beat the World No. 3 on Wednesday on the Center Court. Rune beat for the first time a Top-10 player in the 4th attempt of his career.

Rune vs Zverev Match Report
Rune turned around all the stats in just the first meeting between the two. Holger leads to 1-0 head-to-head against the German in style demolishing by 6-3,6-2. Even though getting a bye in the first round, Zverev was not able to hold on to the tournament and lost against the 70th-ranked.
Rune quickly got a break in the first set leading to 3-0 then with six set points at 5-3 he eventually wrapped up the set to 6-3. Similarly, Rune got two breaks in the second set concluding to 5-1 lead and taking the match in pocket. Zverev could not hold double faults (3), no ace in the match and arching all stats towards Rune.

Holger Rune will face either Finn Ruusuvuori (World No. 63) or Maxime Cressy (World No. 65) in the quarterfinals on Friday.
