Rafael Nadal won his 22nd Grand Slam champion defeating Casper Ruud, in lifting his 14th Roland Garros title. The “Prince of Paris” outplayed the Norwegian debutant in straight three sets by 6-3,6-3,6-0.
He now leads with two Grand Slams in the most Grand Slams winner list. The “King of Clay” was extraordinary on the court thus making it extremely easy to win the title. Nadal defeated one of his Rafael Nadal Academy students, whom he admired.
Rafael Nadal also made history by becoming the oldest Roland Garros champion, winning the 2022 French Open. He made speechless to the whole world of sports and he inspires the young tennis players.
French Open Final 2022: Match Summary
The 36-year-old Spaniard commenced the first set with exquisite performance throughout the set. He broke Casper Ruud multiple times thus resulting in 6-3 in the first set. Rafael Nadal overruled the World No.8 in the second set as he hold his serves tight and hit unbelievable attacking backhands across the court.
Casper Ruud was complete unstable playing the critical set which helped the “King of Clay” to attack more on his serves. Ruud was quashed throughout the deciding set, therefore, turning the whole match to Nadal by 6-3,6-3,6-0.
