Rafael Nadal prefers to lose the French Open 2022 final: Here’s Why?

World Number 5, Rafael Nadal will play for his 22nd Grand Slam title and 14th French Open title on Sunday against Casper Ruud.

But what got the attention of the tennis viewers was Nadal’s statement after his Semi-Final match against Zverev. In the Match Zverev had to retire due to a nasty leg injury. Nadal was quoted as saying “Without a doubt, I’d prefer to lose the final, a new foot would allow me to be happier in my daily life.”

Tennis and Nadal fans alike are well aware of the chronic leg injury of Nadal which has troubled him all his career. Nadal admitted that this injury can end his career any day and his tennis playing days are limited because of his leg.

That is why Nadal expressed to rather lose the final and have a new leg so that he could have a happier personal life and play in the future too.
