Edmonton Oilers defeated Conference Rivals Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 at Rogers Place today. The Oilers, thereby extended their longest winning streak to Fifteen Games.
The Oilers started with Connor McDavid finishing a backhanded PPG in the 2nd period. Zach Hyman scored his 29th goal of the season in the 2nd period to extend the lead.
McDavid picked up his second goal of the game when he fired off into an empty net with less than two minutes on clock. Leon Draisaitl assisted in all three goals.
Calvin Pickard scored his first shutout as an Oiler. The 31-year-old picked up his first shutout since a 2018 game for the Phillies. He made 27 saves in the game.

The victory equaled 3rd longest in NHL History. Edmonton Oilers became the fifth team in NHL to win 15 games in a row. They have tied the record held by 1981-82 Islanders and 2012-13 Penguins. Only the 2016-17 Blue Jackets (16) and 1992-93 Penguins (17) have a higher record.
Oilers spark their dominance with their 13th straight game with two goals or less. Oilers (28-15-1) are currently sitting in third place in the Pacific Division with 57 points. Blackhawks, on the other hand, are closer to tanking.
Sitting at the bottom of the table, Rookie Connor Bedard can expect a fellow No.1 pick if it continues the same pace. They have tied their franchise record with 19 consecutive road losses.
