After dating Sayoko Wada for three years, a 22-year-old Japanese university student and beauty model, Hakuho wed her in February 2007. Meiji Shrine served as the venue for the wedding ceremony. There are four kids for the couple. He was said to be considering obtaining Japanese citizenship in July 2017 because it is necessary to do so in order to continue competing in the Japan Sumo Association as an elder after retirement. Given that his father Jigjidiin Monkhbat was still alive, Hakuh was allegedly hesitant to renounce his Mongolian citizenship.
