Celtics negotiate offer with Nets involving Kevin Durant and Jaylen Brown: Reports

Grab the latest news regarding Kevin Durant seeking a transfer from the Nets.

July is coming to an end and August is rolling up. However, things haven’t been the smoothest for Nets’ star Kevin Durant. Now that the Boston Celtics have issued a trade offer for the iconic Power Forward, is there a ray of hope?

The NBA never sleeps.

Let’s get right into it.

Everything we know:

Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Nets on the 30th of June. Though there were a lot of talks about his transfer and negotiations, nothing concrete could be built up.

As of now, there are no deadlines for the trade market. But going a month with no proper negotiable contracts is a bit worrying.

Not anymore though, since now we have reports of Celtics coming up with a deal. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Boston Celtics have engaged in trade talks that could lead to them acquiring Durant.

“The Celtics appear no closer to acquiring Durant than others in discussions with the Nets, but Boston’s ability to include All-Star forward Jaylen Brown as a centerpiece in offers does help to make the team formidable in its pursuit,” sources said.

Is the deal final?

Just returning from a trip to the NBA Finals, Boston will be extremely lucky if they could bag one of the strongest players in the NBA. Paired with Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant will surely upgrade the Celtics’ arsenal.

But this deal is one that president Brad Stevens must ponder upon. Although Boston has been consistent with their performance, they are also keen to maintain their form and their central core as of now reflects that as well.

But then again, Kevin Durant could change Boston’s entire dynamic, provided the Celtics are able to acquire him. And Boston is trying hard for just that. Labeling Tatum as untradeable and off the table, there have been talks of adding players like Al Horford and Derrick White to the contract as well.

There are many ways to form a contract. It’s Kevin Durant after all.

Is Boston Celtics the only team?

No, sir. As previously reported, we have Phoenix, Toronto and Miami in the mix as well. Since the former MVP has asked for a trade, almost every team on the table wants him on their side.

Kevin Durant’s future: Is it cloudy?

For all that is worth, President Brad Stevens has been quick and concise with investigation and analysis. This can mean two things.

If the Celtics wanted Kevin Durant on their team so bad, it would’ve happened already, OR the deal has been initiated and the ball is in the Nets’ court.
