After the UFC 294 event, Dana White announced that Khamzat Chimaev next fight would be against the UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland. If his hand is okay, we are going to have the fight soon on the match card. Well, recently, the UFC middleweight champion said something that has created a lot of buzz around the Internet.
Sean Strickland said,
“He doesn’t f***ing deserve it, but here we are. He has not earned it.”
Here is the full statement he made. “Khamzat Chimaev doesn’t f***ing deserve it, but here we are. Give it to him. He sells a lot of fights. I’ll go f***ing fight the man for five rounds. But no, he has not earned it. He doesn’t f***ing deserve it, and getting a decision with a welterweight off the couch does not f***ing earn it.”
Reacting to that on an Instagram post by @espnmma, Chimaev commented with three laughing emojis.
There is no official announcement of the fight, and if this happens, it will definitely be the main event fight. Strickland recently became the UFC middleweight champion by defeating Israel Adesanya. On the other hand, Chimaev is still undefeated in MMA. He defeated Karamu Usman at the UFC 294 event and has a 13-match undefeated streak.
Whether the fight is going to happen soon or later, this is going to be a hell of a fight. Let’s hope that everything is well in Chimaev’s hands and we get to see the title fight soon.
