Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2024 owing to an Achilles injury. Patidar picked up the injury prior to joining the Royal Challengers ahead of the season opener.
The 29-year-old has been rehabbing at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Earlier, he was said to miss the initial games of the Indian Premier League 16. The three-time finalists have not revealed the replacement as of now.

Rajat Patidar broke into fame during the 2022 IPL season. He was called midway as a replacement following an injury to Luvnith Sisodia. His moment of popularity came through in the Eliminator where he registered himself with the fastest century by an Indian in IPL. He finished the season as RCB’s third-highest run-getter, scoring 333 runs from 7 innings at a strike rate above 150.
The Challengers have almost half a dozen players who are on the injury list so far. Despite the win against Mumbai, strong arm bowler Reece Topley picked up a shoulder injury. The future of the player is not revealed yet. Josh Hazlewood is nursing acute Achilles Tendonitis. Will Jacks got replaced by Micheal Bracewell days ahead of the tournament start.
