FC Barcelona is planning a long-term deal with de Jong, Pedri, Gavi, Araujo, and Gundogan

The Spanish club, FC Barcelona, has been a completely different team since Messi was left out. They had to let go of a few of the players, and some of them retired. Under XAVI’s management, young players have been groomed and have performed quite impressively. They won the La Liga title in 2022–23 and the Supercopa in 2022–23. Similarly, this season they are looking too good and are undefeated so far.

Well, a lot of credit goes to the manager as well as the player. They are one of the strongest teams in Europe and do not want to lose their young guns.

Recently, as per sources, the team is planning to extend the contract with de Jong, which will expire in 2026. This was one of the statements.

“We want Frenkie to stay at the club for many years. He is playing at the top level, he loves the club.”

After a few more conversations, he also mentioned, “It is the same for Frenkie but also for Pedri, Gavi, Araujo, and Gundogan, that’s the plan—stay for a long time.”

It is clear that the club is thinking of a long-term plan and shaping the team for the future. In the upcoming seasons, they will cherish more young guns like Lamine Yamal, Vitor Roque, Ferran Torres, Alejandro Balde, Jules Kounde, and many more who will dominate the Spanish league. They want to stay ahead of every club around the world and want their trophy cabinets to be filled with trophies.

Will their plan work in the future? Only time will let us know. Till then, let’s take a look at the performance of the club in the 2024–24 season.
