Red Bull have suspended their young reserve driver Juri Vips over a racial slur. The 21 year old Estonian driver used racist language during livestreaming with another junior Liam Lawson. He also used homophobic language in the livestreaming.
The Austrian constructor RBR said that he would not conduct any team duties “with immediate effect, pending a full investigation into the incident”. They added that condemn abuse of any kind. Furthermore, they said that they have zero tolerance to racist language or behaviour within their organization.
The Estonian later put out a post apologising for his behaviour. His post said
“This language is entirely unacceptable and does not portray the values and principles I hold. I deeply regret my actions and this is not the example I wish to set. I will co-operate with the investigation fully.
Juri Vips, a 21-year-old F2 racer replaced Sergio Perez in the Red Bull RB18 during the first practise session of the Spanish Grand Prix. He called it an “incredible” experience after becoming the first Estonian driver to compete in a Formula 1 race weekend.

The Estonian is due to compete in the Hitech Grand Prix at the Silverstone. Oliver Oakes, the manager of the Hitech squad, expressed his horror and disgust over the racist language during livestreaming.
According to Oakes, who spoke to Autosport, Juri’s remarks are offensive. He added that they do not at all represent the inclusive ideals of Hitech. “I just learned about the video and Red Bull’s suspension with an inquiry, like everyone else, an hour ago” he said.
