Juri Vips to make debut at Formula One for Red Bull Racing

On Friday, as a part of the Spanish Grand Prix Free Practice Session 1, Juri Vips will race in for Sergio Perez in the RB18. Vips is the second rookie to drive tomorrow at the renowned Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. The first was Nyck de Vries who will race for Williams Racing instead of Alex Albon. Nyck is a former FIA Formula E Champion.

Formula One has ruled that every team should contest a driver with experience of no more than two GP in a campaign. And that should be twice meaning two free practice sessions.

Juri Vips is an Estonian driver who races with Hitech Racing team in the Formula 2 Championship. The young and handsome 21 year old have won the 2017 ADAC Formula 4. He entered the Formula Two in 2020 and has recorded 35 starts from 36 entries. He has won 2 races and reached podium on 9 instances. Vips recorded his best finish last year at 6th position. Vips has been a part of the Red Bull Racing Team since 2018.

Vips will team up with the world champion Max Verstappen for a session and is thrilled to prove his worth. He told the Formula 2 Website that, “I am not going to have a certain set goal from Red Bull that I have to win the title or anything like that. I just have to prove I am F1 worthy.”

Robert Kubica will return back in Alfa Romeo

On another news former F1 driver from Poland, Robert Kubica will also be racing on Friday. He will be replacing Zhou Guanyu in Alfa Romeo C42. The 36 year old driver have started in 99 entries and won a single race, 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. He reached a podium on twelve occasions. The veteran driver would be thrilled to be back on the asphalt.
