Randal Kolo Muani talks about his missed goal in the 2022 World Cup Final

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Final will always be remembered for ages in football history. The final went down to penalties, and Argentina lifted the World Cup. But there was an opportunity where France would have won the game 4-3 in the extra 30 minutes. Sadly, the missed opportunity by Randal Kolo Muani couldn’t help them win back-to-back World Cups.

Looking at his missed goal, which would have helped France win the 2022 World Cup, here is what Muani said:

Randal Kolo Muani said:

“I will always be the guy who missed the 1-on-1 in the World Cup final.”

In case you missed: “I would exchange my hat trick for a 1-0 win!” Kylian Mbappe on the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final loss

Here is the complete statement:

“I will always be the guy who missed the 1-on-1 in the World Cup final. That is life. Even when my career is over, people will still talk to me about it.”

Undoubtedly, if Randal Kolo Muani had scored that goal, France would have been back-to-back World Cup winners. But his missed opportunity didn’t cost them the final. It was Argentine goalkeeper Emi Martinez who didn’t let pass the France national football team.

Chip up, Muani. You gave the best. But it was Martinez who gave one of the biggest saves in football history.
