His time at La Paillade was good enough for him to be snapped up by German giants RB Leipzig for a €16 million fee. He made his debut in a 4-0 victory against Häcken in a Europa League qualifying match in July 2018, and since then, his performances have been remarkably reliable. He has played in 146 league games for Die Roten Bullen so far in just four seasons, scoring 10 goals in the process and proving to be a reliable defender for the national team as well.
