Harry Maguire, the captain of Manchester United, is reportedly a target for Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 club is claimed to have shown interest in the English defender in January.
SunSport claims that PSG had an interest in the 30-year-old earlier this year but that no agreement could be reached. It further states that the French powerhouses would have to match his present salary but that they remain open to acquiring the United captain at the end of the current campaign.
The French juggernauts have lacked depth at center back this year, and in midweek, Marquinhos and Nordi Mukiele’s injuries proved to be a costly consequence of their decision not to expand their options in January.
Presnel Kimpembe is already out until the autumn after rupturing his Achilles tendon last month while Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar will join the club on a free transfer this summer.
With concerns over Sergio Ramos‘ future and the success of the 5-3-2 system under manager Christophe Galtier, Maguire might be a part of a new-look-back three for the upcoming campaign. Despite Maguire’s lack of game time at Old Trafford, England boss Gareth Southgate continues to put his faith in the former Leicester City star.
His performance never justified the price tag and as he regularly sits on the bench, Harry Maguire will be waiting for the exit more than ever. PSG will be setting up a €50m price point which will be a dream deal for the red side of manchester.
