City managed to gain a penalty in the 83rd minute as Foden was fouled in the box.
The German Midfielder was on a hat-trick and was given penalty duty for the night. He missed the spot kicks and Leeds capitalized it. Rodrigo manages to beat Ederson from a mistake by Akanji. But it was too late as City managed to maintain the lead.
Aftermath
The city now solidifies its top spot with 4 point lead. They and Arsenal played the same number of games and now City looks like the favourites to lift the cup once again. They will be playing Real Madrid in the upcoming weeks for a spot in UCL final and this can be a good enough confidence boost for them.
Meanwhile, Leeds will be fighting relegation. They will be facing Newcastle and Tottenham who can make their stay on the top flight even harder.
