Louis van Gaal alleges that the FIFA World Cup 2022 was rigged to enable an Argentine victory

Louis van Gaal, known as iron Tulip, has served as managers for Ajax, Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United in addition to three stints with the Dutch Men's National Team.

Louis van Gaal claims that the 2022 World Cup was rigged in favor of Lionel Messi and eventual winners Argentina. The Albiceleste defeated van Gaal’s Dutch side in the Quarter-finals to advance to the Final Four.

“I don’t really want to say much about it. When you see how Argentina gets the goals and how we get the goals and how some Argentina players overstepped the mark and were not punished, then I think it was all a premeditated game,” van Gaal said, as translated from a quote by Dutch Publication NOS. He adds, “I mean everything I say by that. That Messi had to become world champion? I think so, yes.”

An X user, Sara tweeted, “Argentina had 2 goals disallowed against Saudi Arabia, had 11 minutes added against Netherlands where the Dutch equalised, conceded 2 penalties in the final… but according to Louis van Gaal, It’s apparently rigged for Argentina.” On the Other hand, van Gaal received praise for his actions.

LLF or @laligafrauds came in support of the veteran, tweeting, “Appreciation tweet for Louis Van Gaal. It’s not easy to speak up against FIFA and corruption in football. I have first-hand experience of just how difficult it is and the amount of abuse it entails. May God protect Van Gaal and his family”
