Chelsea breezes past Crystal Palace thanks to a last minute winner

Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at the Selhurst Park Stadium. The Blues whooshed through thanks to a late minute winner by Conor Gallagher.

The match started with Crystal Palace gaining one over Chelsea early in the game. Odsonne Eduard stroked the ball past Kepa into the top corner at the seventh minute. Pierre Aubameyang however equalised the game, thrashing the hopes of Crystal Palace to win end their streak of losses against Chelsea. Thiago Silva headed the ball to Auba who shooted it into the bottom corner. Additionally, the goal marked Auba’s first with the Blues.

The second half was not very smooth as the first. They were chances but a competitive spirit was absent. Chelsea and Crystal Palace have not drawn in their past 22 outings in PL. The game steered forward to changing that, putting an end to the longest streak of no draws between Premier League teams.

Conor Gallagher came into the play at the 78th. Kai Havertz was pulled back and the ex- Palace midfielder jogged to the green turf of Selhurst. At the 90th minute, Pulisic dared into the box, shooted it to Gallagher. Gallagher found a spot and steered it into a winner. It was ironic how Crystal Palace lost the game thanks to a late minute winner by one of its past players.
