GER vs JPN: Dream11 Prediction, Captain & Vice-Captain, Preview, H2H, Odds, Probable11, Team News and other details- FIFA World Cup 2022

The Germans kick off their World Cup 2022 Group E campaign against Japan on Wednesday at the Khalifa International Stadium. Germany vs Japan (GER vs JPN) will be an interesting matchup as Germany was knocked out of the group stage four years ago, while their Asian side was on the verge of stunning Belgium in the last 16 before being knocked out.

Germany – The curse of the defending champions was well and truly alive for Germany at the 2018 World Cup, as the team formerly led by Joachim Low saw their 2014 title defence end at the first hurdle before falling to England in the recent European Championships in the last 16. Hansi Flick joined the national team on a new adventure. As a result, this German team, led by a new coach, is expected to perform well at this year’s World Cup. Even though Japan appears to be the weaker side on paper, Germany will not take them lightly because Japan’s neighbour, South Korea, knocked Germany out in 2018.

Japan – Takashi Inui’s wonder strike to put Japan 2-0 up against Belgium appeared to seal an unlikely path into the last eight of the 2018 World Cup for the Samurai Blue, who eventually succumbed to three Red Devils strikes to end their hopes of a first-ever quarter-final appearance. In their six World Cups since 1998, Japan has a habit of exiting the group stage before reaching the last 16. With the Germans being the stronger team on paper, Japan will be all geared up to take on them.
