The FIFA World Cup 2022 is coming to an end. The winner of the significant event in Qatar is only one game away. Argentina and France will compete for their third World Cup title on Sunday at the Lusail Stadium. Argentina’s Lionel Messi will be the center of attention, as this will reportedly be his final World Cup game. Messi has led Argentina in scoring with five goals in the current tournament. Notably, France’s Kylian Mbappe is tied with him on the top goal-scorers’ leaderboard with the same number of goals. It will be an intriguing contest for the Golden Boot. With Olivier Giroud, who has been in phenomenal form for France this season. Argentina’s Julian Alvarez level with four goals each.

2006 – 2022 Golden Boot Winners

Kane did not score in England’s final three games in Russia, but he was still two goals ahead of a group of five players that included winners Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann. Gary Lineker is the only previous Englishman to have won the Golden Boot, scoring six goals in the 1986 World Cup.

However, don’t rule out Olivier Giroud or Julian Alvarez. They each have four and are expected to lead their respective teams’ offenses in the final.
