While England was eliminated from the World Cup in the quarter-finals, losing 2-1 to France, there are many reasons to be proud of their efforts. Rashford, in particular, can be pleased with his own performances in Qatar, where he finished with three goals. His club manager Erik ten Hag appears to have been impressed by the winger recently as well and has since paid him a high compliment.

What did Erik ten Hag say?
Ten Hag said: “From the first moment, I recognised the colossal potential. And now to get out the potential, I believe when Marcus’s positioning is on the back of the defending line, there is almost no better player in the world.
“There is Mbappe in this moment, a type like him. But when he (Rashford)’s getting in that position, he’s great and you see he’s really improved also out of possession.”
However, there’s a huge chance for Rashford to play alongside Mbappe. There are rumours of Rashford getting transferred to PSG in the summer when his contract expires with Man Utd.
Ten Hag acknowledges the final call on his future rests with the player, however, adding: “He has to make a decision.
“The only thing we can do is show him this is the best club to be in, in the way we play and the way we train and if we are offering the right environment to progress,” he added.

“It’s a financial issue as well. Then it is up to him to make the decision. But for one-and-a-half years, he will be here.”
