Just In: Mohammad Shami replaces Bumrah in India’s T20 World Cup squad

Mohammad Shami will soon join the Indian contingent as the 15th member.

International Cricket Council (ICC) through their social networking site confirmed that India has named the replacement for Jasprit Bumrah in their final T20 World Cup squad. Mohammad Shami will soon join the Indian contingent as the 15th member. However, the speedster was initially named amongst the three-man list of reserve players. The Indian team had earlier left for Australia without their 15th member but will have Shami joining them soon.

India had to deal with huge blows ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Besides Bumrah, they will also not have all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s service. Moreover, Deepak Chahar, who was initially named amongst the reserve players, couldn’t accompany the Indian squad to Australia. As he recently faced a back injury.
