The veteran England pacer, James Anderson has added another feather to his crown. In the ongoing second test match between England and New Zealand, at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Anderson claimed his 650th wicket. The pacer achieved this milestone in the first over of the match by taking the wicket of the Kiwi skipper Tom Latham. Anderson took the most test wickets as fast bowler. New Zealand started the innings with a lead of 14 runs. But the Kiwis lost their first wicket on the 5th delivery of the innings.
Anderson became the 3rd bowler to cross 650 wickets after Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Anil Kumble (708). But this makes him the first pacer to made this landmark.

The 39-year-old bowler made a great come-back to the game in this test. The England team under the captaincy of Ben Stokes restored Anderson in the team. After losing the 1st Test, New Zealand is looking for the victory in the second test. The Kiwis posted the mammoth score of 553 in the first innings with the stellar performances of Daryl Mitchel (190) and Tom Blundell (106).
In return, England scored 539 runs with Ollie Pope’s (145) and Joe Root’s (176) centuries. Even though, New Zealand lost couple of wickets, the team is trying to build a good score.
