Last year, tensions arose between Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda when the duo reportedly had a fallout. The two had allegedly clashed at a Baroda camp, which led to Hooda leaving the camp midway. Hence, one of the biggest talking points coming into this IPL season was Lucknow’s purchase of Krunal and Hooda.
With Hooda claiming Krunal to have threatened him and used abusive language, fans were clamouring for a showdown. However, to everyone’s surprise, the players embraced each other during Lucknow’s first game after Hooda took a catch.

While all seemed well within the Lucknow dug-out, a mix-up between Krunal and Hooda led to the latter’s dismissal. Courtesy of a brilliant throw from Johnny Bairstow, Hooda was well out of his crease. However, what caught everybody’s attention was Krunal Pandya’s reaction to the whole incident. Pandya was seemingly livid about the whole incident and glared at Hooda, reigniting the pair’s woes.

While Krunal’s dismay seemed to have stemmed from Hooda’s nonchalance while taking the first run, fans had their own takeaways.

The Lucknow Super Giants eventually won quite easily despite the incident, with Krunal Pandya winning the Man of the Match. With de Kock and Hooda performing well up the top, the total of 153 seemed too much for Punjab. Krunal took 2/11 in his quota of four overs at an economy of 2.75.
