Jay Shah backs Virat Kohli’s unavailability from the India vs England Test Series

For the first time in 15 years, the run-machine Virat Kohli missed a test series for India in his career. His absence disappointed several fans, which resulted in fans trolling him on social media. But the BCCI secretary didn’t hold back and supported Virat Kohli’s unavailability in the India vs England Test Series.

Jay Shah said:

“Virat Kohli is not the kind of player who would ask for a leave without any reason. If somebody is asking for personal leave in 15 years, then it is his right.”

Virat made his test debut in 2011, and since then, he has rarely missed a test series unless injured. Moreover, he has captained the team for years, bringing about the winning transition.

Undoubtedly, test cricket has been his favorite format, and if he misses a series due to personal reasons, it might be important.

But why did Jay Shah need to release such a statement?

As mentioned, Virat Kohli’s unavailability in the India vs. England Test Series resulted in immense trolling. As usual, several Indian cricket fans stick to being illiterate. Trolling players has been their weapon, which is how things work for them.

One of the prime examples is Jasprit Bumrah. When he was out of cricket for almost a year due to injuries, fans trolled him. But when he became the number one player in Test cricket, fans showed immense love for him. As a result, Jay Shah released this statement to support Virat Kohli’s unavailability.
