The countdown for the world’s toughest and most entertaining league has begun. The 15th season of TATA IPL is all set to be even bigger than in the past. 10 top-quality teams will engage in a cracking tournament for the coveted IPL title. All league matches will be hosted in 4 international standard venues of Maharashtra – DY Patil Stadium, CCI Stadium, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and the MCA Stadium in Pune. Over a period of 65 days, 70 league matches alongside 4 Playoffs fixtures will be played in order to see which franchise emerges as the champions of IPL 2022. The 5 times champions, Mumbai Indians will once again enter the field as firm favorites. Punjab Kings formerly known as the Kings XI Punjab is yet to win the coveted trophy. They have built a solid team featuring the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Kagiso Rabada, and Liam Livingstone in their squad for IPL15. Mayank Agarwal has been elevated to the role of captaincy this season. 6. Kolkata Knight Riders
The 2 times IPL champions, KKR narrowly missed their 3rd chance to lift the title in the last season. The runners-up of IPL 2021, will look forward to take the extra leap forward. A repeat of the triumphs of 2012 and 2014 back in 2022 is the ultimate goal. The team management decided on a change of guard in the team. They have roped in the flamboyant Shreyas Iyer to lead the Knights. Iyer is at the peak of his career as a batter. He will hope for a fantastic stint in the shoes of a captain as well. 7. Gujarat Titans

Rajasthan Royals were the champions of the first-ever edition of the IPL. But the Royals have waited quite long for their second trophy in the cabinet. Also, the franchise is known to invest in young promising talents. RR led by Sanju Samson has added quite a few experienced cricketers to therefore strengthen their squad too. Delhi Capitals have been one of the most consistent teams in the past 3-4 years. Henceforth, under wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, the franchise has flourished to higher levels. However it has fallen short of winning the title every season. However, IPL 15 might be a turning point for them. The team management has built a core that is touted as the best squad of IPL 2022 by pundits. Also, presence of IPL 2016 winning skipper David Warner will be of great help to young Rishabh Pant. 10. Chennai Super Kings
The defending champions under the captaincy of Thala MS Dhoni are all set to roar once again in IPL 15. A camp filled with stalwarts of the game, CSK are the most consistent franchise in the history of the league. The 4 times champions have qualified for the finals 9 times. This is a testament to its dominance over other sides in the league stage.
However, the franchise did make a lot of changes in their squad. They mostly bought cricketers who have previously been a part of CSK in the auction. Sir Ravindra Jadeja, IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, and Deepak Chahar are going to be instrumental for the yellow army in 2022 as well. CSK has previously won two IPL titles in a row in 2010-11, thus the Whistle Podu fans will hence expect the same one more time in 2022.
