The last ride!!! The 56th match of IPL 2021, scheduled at Dubai International Stadium was between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli would hope to finish RCB in the top 2 though it seems an impossible task. So let’s take a glimpse of the match briefing. Although DC started off well, they managed to put up 164 runs on the board. RCB bowlers restricted DC below 170 after good bowling from bowlers. Furthermore, RCB’s middle order batters showcased their heroics and sealed the win. DC vs RCB Man of the Match: Terrific batting from two batters, one of them also received the MOM award. 

To begin with the match, RCB won the toss and decided to bowl. Although RCB was not able to get a breakthrough in the first half, the bowlers did well afterwards. Strong start by DC batters as they set up 88 runs partnership in 10 overs. While Prithvi Shaw 48 off 31, Shikhar Dhawan smashed 43 off 35 balls. Despite a good start, the middle order failed to perform up to the mark. Rishabh Pant got dismissed for 10 while Shreyas Iyer for 18 runs. However Shimron Hetmyer smashed 29 off 22 to help the team to put 164 runs on the board. Brilliant bowling from Mohd. Siraj, as he clinched two wickets with an economy rate of 6.25.

In the second innings, RCB didn’t start quite well. They lost the first two wickets till the 3rd over for only 6 runs. Furthermore AB de Villiers got dismissed for 26 runs in the 10th over and the team stood at 55 for 3. However, Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell balanced the momentum and played cautiously and smartly. Glenn Maxwell knocked 51 off 33 and Srikar Bharat smashed 78 off 52. Bharat elegantly completed the run chase and finished off in style with a six. This helped RCB to clinch the victory by 7 wickets.

Srikar Bharat, playing his first season for RCB, bags the Man of the Match award. He proved his skills and potential by playing elegantly. Despite the top order collapse, he balanced the team and smashed 78 off 52. His knock helped the team to register their 9th win of the season. He finished the match in style by smashing a six off the last ball. And here ends all the matches of the IPL, now qualifiers will be held. The four teams to qualify are DC, CSK, RCB and KKR.
