With the 2nd ODI’s win on Pakistan’s side, they’ve also grabbed the victory of the 3-match ODI series against West Indies. However, there were some quite captivating moments on and off, throughout the match of 2nd ODI. The Pakistan’s team skipper, Babar Azam was apparently found guilty of ‘illegal fielding’. Due to which the team of Pakistan had to withstand a 5-run penalty. This happened in the 29th over of the 2nd innings, when the host country’s skipper was spotted collecting the ball from behind the stumps. At the time, he was wearing a single wicket-keeping glove.

The law of 28.1 Protective Equipment says, “No fielder other than the wicket-keeper shall be permitted to wear gloves or external leg guards. In addition, protection for the hand or fingers may be worn only with the consent of the umpires.”
However, if Pakistan wouldn’t have set such a huge target, the penalty might have been a bonus for the West Indies team. Although, the whole playing squad of WI got wrapped up in just 155 runs. Pakistan won the 2nd ODI by 120 runs. The last and final ODI match of the series will be played on the 12th of June, 2022.
