Asia Cup 2024 Format
The 2024 edition of the continental tournament will be played in the ODI format. The reason for this is the ODI World Cup which is scheduled to take place in October-November. In 2015, the International Cricket Council reduced the power of the Asian Cricket Council. And, ICC announced that Asia Cup events from 2016 would be played on the basis of the format of upcoming world events. And, there will be a rotation basis between ODI and T20 formats. Due to this reason, the 2016 edition of the Asia Cup was played in the T20 format.
This year Asia Cup 2024 is going to be a total of 6 teams. The 16th Edition will feature two groups, with two teams from each group qualifying for the Super Four stage. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will then face off in the final.
