Tatenda Taibu was the first-ever Zimbabwean to play in IPL. The Sourav Ganguly-led Kolkata Knight Riders bought him at the auction ahead of the first IPL for 50L rupees. Taibu retired at the very young age of 29 after run-ins with the political chaos of the country.
Ray Price became the second-ever Zimbabwean when he played his one and only game in Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. Apart from Price and Taibu, Brendan Taylor has also been in IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad bagged Taylor in the 2013 auction.
