He played on the Asian Tour in 2018, winning the PGM Darulaman Championship. He finished 23rd in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals in September 2021, which helped him earn his PGA Tour card. Kitayama earned his first PGA Tour victory in March 2024 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. His first win came in Darulaman Championship in 2018 at the Asian Development tour.
