Liverpool FC is having a disastrous season this year under Jurgen Klopp and this has been the first time in 7 years that Liverpool has played this badly under the Klopp era. Now there have been many talking points which do indicate that the Liverpool gaffer is stubborn and not taking his decisions correctly. Nonetheless, this is an important point which is impacting the situation of Liverpool but there are certainly more issues that the club needs to focus on.
Liverpool has played 29 games till now in the Premier League and has just managed to win 12 games followed by 8 draws and 9 defeats. The only highlighted parts of Liverpool’s presence in this year’s EPL were their 7-1 thumping of Manchester United and the recent 2-2 tie against the league leaders Arsenal, apart from that the club didn’t pull off any masterclass act.
Now looking at Liverpool’s performance outside the EPL, the club has performed well enough in the Champions League group stages but unfortunately, they again collapsed in both legs of the quarterfinals against Real Madrid. Liverpool FC was also shown the exit gate after losing 2-1 to Brighton in the 4th Round of the FA Cup, thus eliminating their only chance to get silverware.

Since his arrival at Liverpool on October 8, 2015, Klopp has won the UCL, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA CW, EPL, Carabao Cup, and the FA Cup as well. As Liverpool’s boss, Klopp has employed over 110 players in all competitions, with Roberto Firmino making the most appearances. He has also seen more than 53 players score for the Reds, with Mohamed Salah leading the chart.
However, this is not all that Klopp pulled off with Liverpool, he has also won 60.7% of all the total games he managed. He represented Liverpool in 287 games as of now and out of which he has won 178 games, followed by 66 draws and 43 losses in the Premier League. On top of that, Liverpool has scored 603 goals and conceded only 280 goals, and all of the above stats imply how good and impactful Klopp’s tactics are.
After finishing 8th in his opening season, Klopp has pushed Liverpool to a top 4 finish 2 times in the 16/17 and the 17/18 editions, followed by 2 top two finishes in the 18/19 and 21/22 editions and one 3rd place finish in the 20/21 season and everyone knows that Liverpool was crowned the league winners in the 19/20 season. Now combining all of the competitions, Klopp has managed Liverpool for a total of 469 matches, winning 290, with 92 draws and 87 defeats and also scoring 982 goals and conceding 471. So is Jurgen Klopp really the sole problem for Liverpool?
This season, Liverpool is performing awfully, but that doesn’t mean that Klopp deserves to get sacked just like that. After all, after all, he is one of the main reasons for Liverpool’s transformation and his numbers for the team do a lot of the talking itself. However, it is also true that Klopp is taking decisions like a stubborn person but it still doesn’t justify the rumours of sacking him.
Now let’s focus on the owners of Liverpool i.e Fenway Sports Group (FSG), so their top-level management is also facing backlash from the fans for the last few years as Liverpool are failing to buy top-tier players because of a lack of support and funds from the upper management. So, Klopp has to do the backing up for the mismanagement and very less interest from the upper seats to buy the much-needed players for the squad. Will Klopp get sacked?
Jurgen Klopp is less likely to get sacked as he receives immense backup from the management (but not in every way). He himself is committed to turning the situation around for Liverpool and is determined to keep his promises to keep Liverpool at the top till the end of his contract in 2027.
