The Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world. This high level of competition has made the clubs ruthless in sacking managers and hiring replacements to ensure good results.
The most shocking sacking this season has to be Thomas Tuchel. Being recently led Chelsea to their second Champions League title, Tuchel was sacked by the new owner Todd Boehly. Although the Blues have a reputation for sacking managers quite frequently, the whole footballing world was shocked by this major decision from the new boss. Graham Potter who was having a great season with Brighton was hired as a replacement for the German tactician.
Brighton on the other hand who was having a great season under Graham Potter had to rearrange themselves when they later decided to leave them for Chelsea. Brighton appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their replacement and have succeeded in continuing their good run of form under him.
The Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was also sacked by Aston Villa after a string of bad results. Aston Villa chose the former Arsenal manager Unai Emery as his successor. Emery returned to the Premier League with the Villa fans hoping to get a decent position in the league table this season.
The former Real Madrid and Sevilla manager Julian Lopetegui were appointed by Wolves to succeed Bruno Lage who was relieved from his duties after nearly a year.
Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhüttl was relieved from his duties after 4 years at the club. He was succeeded by Nathan Jones who was also sacked after a brief 3 month period. Ruben Selles who was named the caretaker manager has now been given the job by the Southampton board permanently.
In a similar fashion, Bournemouth also gave their caretaker manager Gary O’Neil the vacant position after Scott Parker was sacked.
Everton parted ways with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard after dropping to the relegation zone. Lampard’s departure marked the much-awaited return of Sean Dyche to the Premier League.
Arsenal legend Patrick Viera was also relieved of his duties after being almost 2 years in charge. Crystal Palace has reappointed Roy Hodgson one of the most experienced coaches, as their boss. Having managed 22 different clubs in eight different countries, Crystal Palace fans would be hoping they are in good hands.
Antonio Conte also left Tottenham. The club released a statement saying it was a mutual agreement. He’s being replaced by Cristian Stellini but Spurs are reportedly interested in bringing in the recently sacked Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.
And lastly, Leeds sacked Jesse Marsch and appointed Jabi Garcia as their new coach.
