Battle between the blues!! The 46th match of IPL 2021, scheduled at Sharjah Cricket Stadium was between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. MI would hope to win this match at any cost to make their place in the playoffs. So let’s have a look at the match briefing. Brilliant bowling performance by DC as they restricted MI to 129 runs. MI’s batting order collapsed and tumbled to a low score. A 3 wicket haul for two DC bowlers helped to restrict MI. To begin with the match, DC won the toss and chose to bowl first. Things turned out in their favour as the bowlers did a miracle. Bowlers managed to refrain MI from putting any strong partnerships. Although Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 off 26, it didn’t help MI to put up a big total. Avesh Khan bowled brilliantly at an economy of 3.75 and clinched 3 crucial wickets including Rohit Sharma. Axar Patel also took 3 wickets and conceded just 21 runs. Other bowlers also contributed their part though Ashwin went expensive.

In the second innings, DC also lost its balance as they lost 3 wickets in the powerplay. Although Rishabh Pant tried to be attacking, his intent proved to be expensevise for himself. Jayant Yadav dismissed him for 26 runs off 22 balls. As a result DC’s top order turned out to be a debacle. However Shreyas Iyer took the responsibility on his shoulders and led the team to victory. Although he scored at a slow rate, the knock was very crucial as other batters collapsed. MI gave their best shot to restrict DC but failed. As a result DC won the match by 4 wickets.

Man of the Match in MI vs DC match

The DC bowler Axar Patel bags the Man of the Match award. He dismissed Quinton De Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwary. In his 4 overs spell he conceded just 23 runs. Such crucial wickets helped DC to dominate the MI batters. As a result, DC won the match and crushed MI’s hopes to make it to the playoffs.
