The former Women’s World No one, Serena Williams will be returning to professional tennis after more than a year layoff. Serena Williams returns before the Wimbledon at Eastbourne International along with her doubles partner Ons Jabeur.
The 40-year-old American was last seen in Wimbledon 2021 in which she was forced to retire amid injury. Therefore, leading to a long setback to return on court. Serena Williams has been granted the wildcard in Eastbourne International with her duet, Ons Jabeur. The first-time doubles will begin the tournament playing against Sorribes Tormo and Bouzkova.
The World No 4, Ons Jabeur who just lifted her second career title in the 2022, Berlin Open, is super excited to pair up with her idol. Serena Williams and Ons Jabeur will play the round of 16 in the Women’s Doubles.
Serena answered all the questions regarding her retirement after her wildcard entry. The 23-time Grand Slam champion confirmed her wildcard entry in the Wimbledon 2022 for the 21st appearance. She is the most Wimbledon winning Women’s champion.
