World No.1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia will take on Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the quarterfinal of the 2022 Madrid Open on Friday, May 6.
With 37 Master’s 1000 titles under his name, Novak Djokovic will be looking forward to move into another Semifinal. After battling past Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien in a close to three-hour first-round contest, World No. 14 Hubert Hurkacz needed two hours and 28 minutes to edge past Monte-Carlo Masters finalist Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round on Wednesday. Contrary to the first two matches, the 25 year old was able to end his third round match against Lajovic in two sets. Having played more hours of tennis than Djokovic this week, will the Polish have enough energy to squeeze out a victory.
