The latest edition of NXT started and ended with a title defense. The World Heavyweight Championship was on line as Seth Rollins faced Bron Breakker in the main event. Wes Lee was set to defend the NXT North American Championship against Tyler Bate with Mustafa Ali being the special referee for the title match.

Wes Lee defeats Tyler Bate to retain the NXT North American Championship
The champion retains his title in an entertaining match against Tyler Bate. The presence of Special Referee Mustafa Ali was known and his antics were fun. Lee retains after hitting a Kardiak Kick.
Thea Hail makes the NXT Women’s Champion Tap Out
The ultimate underdog proved Tiffany Stratton wrong as she made the champion tap during a pep rally hosted by Duke Hudson for Hail.
Edris Enofé and Malik Blade are the new number one contenders
Enofé and Blade defeated Jensen and Briggs and Hank Tank to become the next challengers for the NXT Tag Team Championship. The match was decent and Gallus should be concerned.
Cora Jade beats Dana Brooke
Jade wins against an injured Brooke via referee stoppage. Dana Brooke sold the knee injury well and Jade looked great as a heel.
Carmelo Hayes confronts Baron Corbin
The NXT Champion confronts Baron Corbin a week before their match with a great promo. Both superstars had their moments but the Lone Wolf had the last say.
Legend and Jackson defeat Feroz and Leon
A good moment for Legend and Jackson as they defeat Feroz and Leon in a tag team match. After taking care of Mensah’s distraction, Feroz was dropped with a big boot by Legend for the victory.
Seth Rollins retains against Bron Breakker
The Visionary was able to survive Bron Breakker despite his injuries to retain the World Heavyweight Title yet again. The match was impressive as one would expect and both competitors looked good in the ring. Finn Bàlor attacked Rollins after the match again, sending a statement before their showdown at Money in the Bank.

The first week of NXT Gold Rush didn’t fail to deliver but more was expected from this special edition of Tuesday night show.
