A public interest litigation (PIT) has been filed against MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, and 6 other celebrities including Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan in the Madhya Pradesh High court. The petition states that online betting and gambling should be banned in Madhya Prades as it has already been done in many parts of the country like Bihar, Telengana and Karnatka.
The petition is filed by lawyer Vinod Dwivedi who beleives that these celebrities are role models for the youth of the country. Youngsters of the country look upto them as idols and try to follow their footsteps. The petitioner states these youth are motivated and encouraged by these role models to play such online betting games and lose all their money.

Vinod Dwivedi also added that youth are committing suicide and going into depression after losing their money on online bettings and games. He also believes that these celebrities are responsible and answerable to these people who are misguided by them. A notice is issued by the advocate but, there is no response from other parties. The petition was heard before the couple bench on monday.
The next hearing will be on may 10 and the petitioner have time till then to amend his petition.
